This was one of the first bikes with a full Campagnolo C-Record gruppo, and many of the parts differ slightly from the 1986/1987 production components.

And this is revealed in how poor the shifting and braking is on this bike!
This 'black nickel' finish is a thin decorative coating (nickel, zinc, etc..) that is applied over a nickel underplating.

There are conflicting histories of the early Delta brakes. The Campy Only version is that only 3 of these brakesets (or not many more than 3) exist. Another version is that 200-300 were produced but they were only sold in Europe. The 43bikes opinion is that the latter is far more likely, and that there are at least a dozen brakesets known of 'in captivity'.

Although I don't believe the Delta calipers are as rare as others have said, I do think these brake levers may be actual one-offs. The lever bodies only allow the cables to be routed through the handlebars; there is no channel to allow the cables to go under the handlebar tape like on the production levers.
