These are the 1st Redline Flight cranks. They lack the pinch bolt(s) of the later cranks. Also check the early Shimano DX pedals.

Mongoose parts include bars, stem, grips, rims (c. '82/'83), tires, saddle, and seat clamp. Were they ahead of their time for using stainless steel for their handlebars and seatposts?

This frame may have been welded by Frank The Welder, who was subcontracting for Mongoose at this time. With the people and the design, there is a thread going through the Kos, the Moto-Cruiser, and Yeti. All of these bikes were unusual in their day for their geometry, with a long top tube and quick handling. I think that is the best thing about a Kos.
